Flat Rock Non Medical Transportation Services

Flat Rock is committed to ensuring maximum community integration and quality of life for all intellectually and developmentally disabled individuals. A major component of this is offering non-medical transportation.IMG_5819

We have made every effort to provide the highest quality and safest level of transportation available. This service provides consumers with access to their workshop and day array services including:

*Adult Day Support

*Vocational Habilitation

*Supported Employment

Please check with us to confirm your individual service plan (ISP) and waiver are eligible for these and other transportation services. Private pay opportunities are also available.

IMG_5817The Flat Rock transport fleet only utilizes the highest quality passenger vans.

We maintain them to impeccable standards. This includes:

  • Detailed vehicle inspections performed annually
  • Mandatory daily “pre-trip” vehicle inspections
  • All vehicles are fully ADA compliant and some are wheel chair accessible
  • All vehicles have two-way mobile devices
  • All vehicles are equipped with first-aid supplies

In addition to the driver, our vans also are staffed with a trained staff support person to assist in passenger comfort and safety.

Ensuring the safety and comfort of our passengers is important to us.

All our drivers are required to complete a defensive driving course. And, in addition to being certified in CPR and first-aid, our drivers must take courses and be certified in “Passenger Assistance Training.” This includes the following:IMG_5813

  • Extensive training in developmental disabilities
  • Sensitivity to aging and its effect on developmental disabilities
  • Consumer assistance and transfer techniques
  • Wheelchair and wheelchair lift management
  • Emergency procedures

The Flat Rock non-medical transportation team takes pride in the services it provides. Our vehicles are always maintained to the highest mechanical standards and kept extra clean inside and out. Our drivers and support staff are professionally trained to work with transporting developmentally disabled individuals. Not only that, but they are courteous, friendly and extra responsive to their passengers’ needs. Everybody enjoys riding the Flat Rock vans!
